Ariana has been sleeping on the couch, waiting for dinner. She just poked her head up and I said a few more minutes when the news ends so she went back to sleep.
She had a busy day yesterday as I hosted my annual Christmas Open House. Twenty-four people came between 2 and 8 pm and she spent some time with most of them, retreating into the bedroom when it got too frantic. The best thing was when my friend Kim came in who had had to have their cat put to sleep just before Christmas. Kim had looked after Ariana for a few days a couple of years ago when my brother died. While I was greeting her in the hall, Ariana was sleeping on the back of the couch behind a couple of people. I called her and said Kim was here and she immediately got up, walked among all the purple and came right up to Kim to let her pet her. It was a very special moment.

Ahhhh. Good comforting, Ariana. (That’s a pretty tolerant cat for that many people. )

Yes, everyone kept commenting on how tolerant and laidback she was. She did escape into the bedroom from time to time, especially when there was a bit of a crowd, but she seemed to want to give everyone a chance to pet and admire her. 🙂
